Grove City School Superintendent Bob Post wants more money from the residents in the district - and the school board is more than willing to give him the approval to take it. For the second year in a row, the board will vote to increase the tax rate.
Of course, this rate hike comes on the heels of Post and Assistant Superintendent Tom Bell receiving increases in salary. Both men are paid considerably more than the mayor of Pittsburgh. Tom Murphy, call your office!
Instead of living within their means, the neglectful school board will use the full power of government resources to force residents to pay. Grove City is not a wealthy town and there are many elderly residents with fixed incomes.
In a recent board meeting, Post defended the rate hike as necessary to pay salaries. He noted that if a plumber costs $60/hr, then you pay him $60/hr.
No, Mr. Post...if you don't have the money in your bank account, you find a cheaper plumber or find another way to get the job done.
Grove City residents can only hope retirement ends Post's career before he can rob the citizenry again.
