Gerhard Schroeder, Germany's Al Gore

German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has lost re-election. He refused to concede. His party even organized a power-sharing plan to keep Schroeder as Vice-Chancellor.

He has now lost the post he has held since 1988. He has been beaten by conservative leader Angela Merkel.

Yahoo News/Reuters reports:
...conservatives narrowly beat Schroeder's SPD in a September 18 general election, but failed to win enough seats to build a majority with their preferred coalition partners.

"I will not be a part of the next government -- definitely not be part of it," a tearful looking Schroeder told a rapt audience of union members in his home city of Hanover.

When Schroeder realized it was time to go, he did the trendy liberal thing - blast President Bush and America. He had sharp criticism for the US not leaping to the aid of Katrina victims. Since he likely watches CNN, he obviously missed the facts about the NOLA mayor and LA guv dropping the ball. He likely missed the facts pertaining to the incredible speed of the federal government and charities. To caught up in hatred of Bush to let the facts get in the way.

Another liberal sore loser on the world'd political stage. Maybe he'll pack on 50 pounds, grow a beard, and yell a lot over the next several months. Isn't life grand?
