Swann vs. Rendell - Arena Plans

Here's a perfect example of the difference between conservatives and liberals. The Pittsburgh Penguins want a new arena. They have a plan in place to use 100% private money. Lynn Swann approves of the plan.

Ed Rendell has an alternate plan. His plan includes using tax money for a sizeable portion of the arena cost.

Private initiative vs. government initiative.

Where do you stand?

French Strikes and Riots

The youth and labor unions in France are striking and rioting. Why? Because the government has enacted a new law - one that allows companies to fire employees younger than 26 with less than two years on the job.

Sure, you are scratching your head - you thought that was the case everywhere. Well, not in a socialist empire. In a land where the government owes you everything, apparently one thing is a guaranteed job.

Welcome to life, kids. Once you get your government-supplied education, you now are not necessarily going to get a government-supplied job. Go do it yourself! The rewards are fabulous.

Related: Picture of the Century! Classic banner moment - French protesters hold up a banner showing their displeasure about the possibility of getting fired. The banner read "We will never surrender!" Too bad they have lacked this fortutude over the last 100 years...Never Surrender? Yeah, right.

Notice to Illegal Immigrants:

If you want my sympathy...if you want to show the country that you want to be here...if you want to proclaim that you love the USA:

Don't stage a bogus protest rally only to show up and waive the flag of Mexico. And you can leave the Che and Fidel shirts at home, too. This isn't a stinkin' communist hole (yes, I know - you are used to California).

Destruction of St. Patrick's Day

Yet another Christian holiday destroyed by humanistic culture. March 17th is set aside to honor the man who brough Christianity to Ireland. To celebrate it, people drink alcohol - lots and lots of alcohol.

I wonder how many people even know what the true meaning of the day is....

Add St. Patrick's Day to the likes of Easter, St. Valentine's Day, and sadly, Christmas.

Impeaching Bush

Several democrats, in an attempt to sound serious, are trying to move censure (and eventually impeachment) of Bush through congress.

They spend three weeks trying to sound serious about national security by bashing the UAE port deal. Now that the deal is nearly dead, the dems have moved back to the wiretapping.

Here's the quick scenario: we have captured bad guys on the battlefield. We have their cell phones and computers. We look through all of the intel and find several phone numbers. We set our "snooping" electronics to wave the red flags when phone calls from those numbers come in. The president wants our intelligence agencies to listen in. The dems don't.

And they think Americans think the way they do...
